My mother lived
in Erie, Pennsylvania and one day in 1990
she called and said that there was a CFA
cat show in town over the weekend and asked
us if we wanted to go. That was the start
of our association with CFA and pedigreed
cats. Both Bill and I fell in love with
the Maine Coon breed and shortly thereafter
purchased McKittycreek's Simon the Sorcerer
(pictured below). After a few shows, Simon
decided he didn't like the
show circuit, but we did. The rest as they
say "is history". We have been
actively breeding and showing Maine Coons
ever since. Our goal has always been to
breed healthy and happy kittens. Our kittens
are raised "under foot" and go
to their new owners only after they have
received three sets of shots and a full
health OK from the vet at 12 weeks of age.
We have on
occasion shown other breeds "just for
fun". An Oriental Shorthair, an American
Shorthair, and a Korat were all shown to
regional wins and the Korat, aka Elliot,
was a national winner. Around 2000, Sharon
decided to pursue becoming a CFA judge.
She then began showing other breeds not
only for fun but also as a requirement for
applying to the judging program. Sharon
applied and was accepted into the CFA judging
panel as a Longhair trainee in 2003 and
2009- at the CFA Annual meeting
was approved as a CFA Allbreed judge. We
are looking forward to hearing from you
and talking about all of our wonderful cats
so please feel free to e-mail or call us.
Best Regards,
Bill & Sharon
